Our next meeting is Monday, November 9 at 6:30 p.m.

We will meet in person (masks required) at the Carriage House at Overholser Mansion, 405 NW 15th St in Oklahoma City.

Come join us for an open discussion of a couple of timely topics:

1. How to get out of a sewing rut.

2. Gift ideas for quilters this holiday season.

Unfortunately, the Mansion is part of the internet outage affecting many homes and businesses in OKC right now, so we are unable to add a Zoom option to this month's meeting.

August Meeting - Tia Curtis Trunk Show!

Please join us as Tia Curtis conducts a warm, light-hearted 45-minute presentation showcasing her quilting journey. Tia has lived all over the world, and having been influenced by so many different cultures along the way, it's a treat to connect with Tia's view of quilting. Her love of Welsh-style quilting and respect for quilt masters like Susan McCord and Gwen Marston is evident in her work.

The Trunk Show presentation includes her process for creating one-of-a-kind quilts that range from traditional to whole-cloth to ultra modern pieces. All designs are Tia’s original work and personally quilted in her home studio.

Workshop - Welsh Quilting - August 5

Welsh Quilting: Styles & Techniques for Today's Quilts
A virtual workshop with Tia Curtis

Wednesday, August 5, 1 pm to 5 pm CDT

Explore the beauty of Welsh Quilting with Tia Curtis. She will give a brief history of Welsh quilting including both hand quilted and machine quilted pieces. She will then break down the timeless designs so that they are easily approachable for any quilter (domestic and longarm). She will demonstrate how simple marking, and the use of acrylic templates make this style of quilting a breeze yet appear complicated and exceptionally detailed. Students will leave class with marked and quilted samples and a handout filled with mix and match designs to try out on their next quilt.

$40 for members of OKCMQG or Cimarron Valley Quilters Guild
$50 for non-members

Space is limited! There are two actions required to register:
  1. Complete the registration form
  2. Submit payment using the Workshop Registration drop-down below.
Your registration is not final until payment has been received.

Class supplies may be purchased individually or as a set. Please order supplies by Tuesday, July 21 to ensure delivery in time for the workshop. Order online at http://www.tiacurtisquilts.com/shop/welsh-quilting-class-set

They've been donated to six different healthcare organizations directly, plus dropped off at Lady Bird Fabrics for distribution and shared with family and friends.

If you haven't sewn masks yet and are interested in participating, here are a few different tutorials that members have shared:
