July Meeting Recap

We had a great meeting in July, starting with a guest speaker from the Tulsa Modern Quilt Guild, Briana Hefley Shepard- aka Bifftastica on Instagram. She told us how she creates truly unique improv quilts and also how to be efficient in your quilt making!

Our next block lottery block was chosen by Karen, and it is the Japanese X & +  block. See the link for the block tutorial and bring 10.5" square trimmed blocks for the block lotto. Maybe you'll get lucky and win! Each block you bring gives you a chance to win the whole pot!

Like always, show and share is a treat!

Chanda brought an amazing double sided baby quilt- two in one, and I love both!

Agnes made a prayer shawl- the type that will be one of our charity projects for the year. So elegant and modern.

Elizabeth has her first two grandbabies arriving this August! So she is busy making tummy time quilts.

Stacie made her first Sew Together bag and it is gorgeous in Cotton + Steel. Way to go!

Evangeline made a mega tote from Latifah Saafir and it is awesome!

Jennifer made a musical fourth of July wall hanging to honor her son who is in the Westpoint Band. So cool!

Lisa brought several bright and stunning projects that she finished up at a quilting retreat. Gorgeous colors!

Bob won our last block lottery pot and has made this amazing quilt top! The tangerine is perfect with our many shades of gray.

Renonda made this handsome, masculine quilt for her son, which incorporated his grandad's flannel shirt and science themed fabrics. Perfect combo!

Brand new member Lela brought a perfectly sweet quilt she recently made, featuring a childhood favorite sheet set as the backing!

Thanks everyone for a great time! Remember that for our "August" meeting, we will have a trunk show with Sherri Lynn Wood on Monday July 31, at 6:30pm at the Northwest Library. No show and shares this time, so we can devote as much time as possibly to Sherri Lynn.

See you then!
