Show and Share- June 2016 Meeting

June is the traditional month of our guild social, and we had a great time chatting and visiting last week.

And as always, our members brought their summertime A game to show and share!

Bob went above and beyond! Crafters gonna craft.
Hi Bob!
The Secret Sewsociety small group did these amazing nautical flag themed quilts. Here is Ann S.'s!
Debbie's nautical quilt was also inspiring- love those colors.
And check out that awesome quilting!
Becky's used a pale blue as a neutral. Perfect pair for the sea.
Celeste is in a group that makes dignity quilts for the VA. Here is a great alternative log cabin quilt block they are using.
She also made an adorable seersucker dress. The summertime dress code!
Regina's flag pillow is perfect for the summer holidays.
Melissa participated in the Hoffman Fabrics challenge with Me + You Batiks- so original and modern. Love it!
Maria made this beautiful piece for her friends who love the southwest.
Peekaboo!
Chanda's great owl wall hanging for her office at the library.
And her awesome halloween wall hanging. Bats!
The Anns brought their Riley Blake Fabric Challenge pieces. Here is Ann S's.
And here is Ann W's!
With a bright Swahili fabric on the back.
July is our month off for the year, so we look forward to seeing everyone at our August meeting! Keep sewing!

#QuiltsforPulse Charity Drive

We share in the collective grief for all of the victims and survivors of the mass shooting at Pulse in Orlando. In conjunction with the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild and the National Modern Quilt Guild, we are participating in a quilt drive.

We are asking our members to make blocks following the Love Wins pattern by What the Bobbin.

Members need to have blocks to Maria A. by July 21; we will be receiving more info via email, meetings, and our Facebook group.

If you would like to participate individually, the Modern Quilt Guild has info for you on their website.

Quilters know that sewing and quilting is an act of love and a gift of comfort to the recipients, and has been so for hundreds of years. Let's show our love and support those who are suffering now. <3
