June Social

* * * Important announcements at the end of the post! * * *

Thanks to all who participated in our June Social! We especially want to give a huge THANK YOU to Debbie and Toni of Oklahoma Quiltworks for allowing us to have our social at the shop. Our own private party in a quilt shop. What could be better! We had a great turnout and a wonderful time!

It was so fun to see our buntings hanging on the tables laden with food in the back room.

We chatted up a storm and brought appetizers and treats to share.

Several demos were set up in the front of the shop, such as:

How to cut a binding on the bias with this nifty ruler; and

Paper piecing with this Fabric Folding Pen filled with Mary Ellen's Best Press.

Turn and press, turn and press...

There were a couple other demos, but I was distracted by this cute fabric that you color yourself and the fact that the shop was open for business. I didn't buy, but I have some new ideas taking shape.

We also had our Road to Oklahoma Quilt Block Lottery and here's how that went down. Bob was the big winner, but since he is in the process of making his own Road to Oklahoma quilt, he put the blocks back into the kitty. (Thanks Bob!) There were so many that we divided them up and drew two winners: Congratulations Karen and Kristine! It's extra special that Kristine won half the blocks because she and her family will be moving very soon. Kristine was one of the first members back when there was less than a dozen, and while we'll certainly miss her, we are excited for Kristine and her family as they make their new home in Arizona.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  1. SEW DAY is this Saturday, June 13th @ Newchurch, 10 am-3 pm.
  2. NO MEETING IN JULY - that means you have a whole extra month until the next Show & Share!
