From our own members- September and October meeting recaps

In the months of September and October, we were so lucky to be able to hear from our own members on their experiences as quilters and artists.

In September we heard from Sarah Atlee, our member and full time artist, on what it means to be a professional artist.

She shared about how important it is to cultivate the creative moments and ideas that come to you, or they may leave your world to find a more amicable host.

Sarah also shared about the logistical ins and outs of being a professional artist and what that means for her, as well as sharing her creative journey through different media and inspirational phases.

In October we heard from three of our members on their journeys in quilting and specifically modern quilting.

Agnes shared about her original inspiration in quilting from a trip to Amish country, and how fine artists have inspired her tastes in quilting, from early projects to current day.

Diane shared about how spending time with friends and family, as well as connecting and giving precious gifts has been a driving force in her quilting life.

Susan told us about her creativity has been a family passion from childhood. By continuing to share and share creative challenges with her family, she has pushed the boundaries of her creativity and made spectacular pieces of art.

Thank you so much to our members for sharing!

We had a pretty great time collecting and then drawing for our modern bear paw block lotto as well.  Lucky Bob!

We also saw a beautiful array of Sew and Shares!
